The Dominican Republic, as a receiving country for foreign vacationers, will receive its first Cruise after our tourist ports were closed due to the global health crisis more than a year ago, with the Atlantic and historic province of Puerto Plata being the which will be the stage for this important event.
Following the guidelines of the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, by virtue of the marked interest of the Constitutional President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, in guaranteeing national tourist security, our Central Police Directorate of Tourism (POLITUR), with objective planning, carried out a survey of the entire route to where these cruise passengers will travel, namely shops, beaches, spas and the Historic Center, as well as the other places of the tourist destinations that belong to this province, all this with the purpose of guaranteeing the safety and protection of these visitors.
As a result of this strategic planning, the Central Director of the Tourism Police (POLITUR), Brigadier General Minoru Matsunaga PN, ordered an increase in personnel and logistics in those places, with the interest that our visitors feel fully confident and can enjoy the attractions offered by this tourist destination with complete peace of mind.
Our mission is based on safeguarding the safety and protection of all tourists and cruise passengers who have chosen this country brand for their vacations, which is why we are prepared and have designed a new security scheme that has been implemented in all cruise port destinations, with which we already guarantee a good stay for these cruise passengers and tourists as they pass through the Dominican Republic.
With the aforementioned strategic guidance from the Ministry of Tourism and the support provided by our General Director of the National Police Major General Edward Sánchez González, as well as the collaboration of all the sectors that affect the industry tourism, we predict a good cruise season even in the midst of this pandemic situation that we are experiencing.
